What do our guests think about La Palma and Casa Jacaranda? Here are recent comments:

Dear M. and J.,

We had a marvelous experience visiting La Palma, and have brought back many happy memories of the island. We would love to go there again some day in the future. Everything was better than we imagined and there is so much to see and do. The Caldera Taburiente must be added to the wonders of the world! Luckily, our stay coincided with the Carnivale week in Santa Cruz and we joined in the celebrations, getting well plastered in talcum powder.
Casa Jacaranda was great - everything we needed was there. The house was bigger than we imagined and more than spacious enough for our party of three people. I would recommend your house to anyone wanting to stay on the island.

To M. and J.

Returned from La Palma last week relaxed and refreshed after a lovely holiday. Your recommendations were excellent and did especially add to getting the most of our short stay. We would add the following.
We ate at Casa Astero - basic and nice - meat only though - no fish- enjoyed!
Near Barlovento Piscinas de la Fajana- saltwater pools safe for swimming, and a really nice restaurant with stunning views, La Gaviota- great for Lunch and seafood is excellent-highly recommended.
Hiking in Los Tilos excellent- visitor center very helpful and provide good easy to follow maps. The same in El-Paso, for hiking in the Caldera de Taburiente, visitor centre top class and again very good maps, helpful staff and well laid out trails for all levels of hiking. The drive to los Muchachos and the hiking anywhere in this area is excellent with spectacular views.
The beach at Puerto Noas is worth a visit for a bit of rest and relaxation. The drive south is spectacular and the little restaurant at Punta Larga is a definite must. We were not overly impressed with the beach at at Fargo de Fuencaliente, but it was a poor day which may have contributed to this. A little further up the coast Playa de la Zamora and Playa Chic were really nice and worth a visit- recommended

Casa Jacaranda was beautiful, nice and private and very comfortable and peaceful .............and we would not only highly recommend it, but we would ourselves like to visit La Palma again sometime in the future and would not hesitate in using Casa Jacaranda. Your 'Casa Jacaranda and La Palma Guide' was really useful and I hope some of the above info. will help other guests as much as your info. helped us. That's it for now once again thanks for everything and hopefully we will be in touch sometime in the future.

Kind Regards,
L. and A.

Dear M. & J.
Interesting little island isn't it? Enjoyed the driving round all the tiny little roads and so on and were able to get a day when the views from the top were superb. Didn't do a lot of walking though, as we really needed to know how to get back from where we'd started, not many of the available walks being circular. Didn't eat out as much as we'd expected to for various reasons, but found that lunches in small wayside "tavernas" were good eating and reasonably priced. It was a bit of a mission getting there and in some ways it paid off. No English fish and chips, no English roast dinners - bliss! I assume it's authentic Spain. Got by on sign language and gestures. People quite friendly on the whole. I think you would have enjoyed watching us asking for eggs in one supermercado!

Travel arrangements "gelled" well, although the buses between North and South on Tenerife not as frequent as we might have thought. Had to go for a taxi ride half way thro' bus journey to make sure we got our connection. Certainly we think it worth re-visiting, it's still delightfully unspoilt and your little house is a great place to stay. Should you wish to get us to give other prospective guests a positive view of it, feel free to pass on our e-mail address.
Only Gomera and El Hierro to go and we'll have collected the set. Got to say that Tenerife has changed a lot from what we remembered of it - not entirely for the better either!

Kind regards,

B. and M.
